Kids Yoga
I am available to teach Yoga in Primary and secondary schools and creches.
Teaching Yoga and Mindfulness to kids is both a joy and a challenge! The trick is to adapt the traditional practice of Yoga enough to make it fun and engaging for children while retaining all the good things that make Yoga so beneficial – Movement, Breathwork, relaxation etc. Classes will often include songs, dance, creative movements, games, story-telling and creative names for the poses depending on the class theme.
The children are encouraged to think about and develop such personal qualities as respect,
compassion, bravery, kindness etc. We also encourage positive body image and help to build
children’s self-esteem and confidence. Classes are non-competitive – we practise yoga simply for the joy of it – this can be especially beneficial for sensitive children and those who do not enjoy competitive sports. Children with additional needs are welcomed and catered for.
